If you have information on long distance walking routes in your area that you feel would be helpful to our readers please do not hesitate to contact us

Our walking adventures so far have allowed us to revisit sections of the Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast, the GR5, the pilgrim route to Santiago de Compostela and the Camino de Robert Louis Stephenson from Le Puy en Velay

We offer free listings on our Walking Festivals, Charity Walks and Where to Stay pages, the only obligation is a link back to us

anatom and teko: official footwear partners of the lake district national park

British boot brand Anatom has become the Lake District National Park’s official footwear and sock partner as part of an ongoing initiative to celebrate and nurture the best of British.

After arduous testing and a tough selection process Anatom’s Q3 Trekking boot incorporating 2.8mm full grain Italian leather, a Calibrated Flex System, the Tri.Aria waterproof/breathable membrane system and the high traction, extremely durable Vibram soles, has been selected for daily use by the Lake District National Park Rangers.

Teko socks have also been selected for use by the Park Rangers. Teko has developed a new merino based fibre called SIN3RGI that is much more durable and faster drying than other merino socks. Teko will produce limited edition packaging to promote the partnership with the Lake District National Park.

A percentage of sales from each product will be donated to this most visited national park in the country. The money will help sustain and enhance the National Park’s spectacular landscape. All the rangers will be fitted out with Teko SIN3RGI socks and the Anatom Q3 Trekking boot and these products will be available to buy from stores in the Lake District National Park and nationwide.

Gordon Fraser, Managing Director of the Anatom Group of Companies, comments on this exciting initiative: “We are passionate about feet, footwear and fitting. We also take our environmental and social responsibilities extremely seriously. We ensure that we select components and materials which are durable and sustainable. Our partnership with the Lake District National Park is a very natural fit for us in terms of the values that both organisations share. Developing our products here in the UK and having access to some of the most demanding testers in the country was a major plus for us and we are delighted to be given the opportunity to support one of our Great British treasures.”
