ISPO 2012 Outdoor Trade Show Munich

Our first visit to the ISPO Trade Show in Munich was in a word "Overwhelming".

2,344 trade stands in 16 halls all eager to sell their products to the world.

The first challenge was to get from my hotel to my first appointment using the very efficient Munich subway system!

All went well until I attempted to join a train on the U2 line heading for the show ground at Messestadt.

First train arrived backed with trade show sardines. No doors opened! No one attempted to open them! Train departed! Next train arrived 4 mins later! Some people attempted to join the crush! Most abandoned their efforts! Train departed! Potential travelers readjusted their positions on the platform in a vane hope to gain advantage over others!

The next train arrived and I forced myself on board and doors closed. Joining my fellow sardines in this tin can I very quickly became very hot! A real contrast to the cold winter morning of Munich, that we had all dressed for.

Relief finally came when the train arrived at Messestadt West and the first group of visitors flowed out onto the platform. I stayed on to the end of the line to get to the Outdoor Halls.

Found the press centre, found a locker, dumped my excess baggage and headed to the Lomer Italian boot manufacturers stand to find out how they are going to re enter the UK market and that was the start of our visit.....

More, much more to come...........
