Our aim is to create an overview of walking in Europe with information on long distance walking routes within and passing through each and eventually every European country.

As we build we will include information on accommodation for walkers, walking festivals, charity walks, outdoor equipment, outdoor equipment reviews, details of new products, where to buy outdoor gear on our retailers page, guide to maps and books for walkers, walking news and walking holidays.

If you have information on long distance walking routes in your area that you feel would be helpful to our readers please do not hesitate to contact us

Our walking adventures so far have allowed us to revisit sections of the Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast, the GR5, the pilgrim route to Santiago de Compostela and the Camino de Robert Louis Stephenson from Le Puy en Velay

We offer free listings on our Walking Festivals, Charity Walks and Where to Stay pages, the only obligation is a link back to us

From Arnside to Kirkby Lonsdale this walking route in South Lakeland crosses undulating landscapes of woods, moss and rocky fell. Ordnance Survey Explorer OL7 The English Lakes South Eastern area Starting at Arnside YH I suggest you take in Arnside Knot for the view over the sands before crossing the railway line and heading east towards Hazelslack and Underlaid Wood beyond. Having negotiated the "Fairy Steps" and exited the wood at Slack Head drop down to Hale (PH) before crossing the mosses to Holme (PH). Leaving north along the road out of Holme the walk passes under the M6 motorway to join the A6070. Turn right to Holme Park Farm and turn left just beyond. The path goes between Holme Park Quarry on the right and Holmepark Fell on the left before crossing a minor roadbe and skirting the northern flank of Hutton Roof Crags to Hutton Roof. Ordnance Survey Explorer OL2 The Yorkshire Dales Continuing east past Longfield Barn and through the two "Biggins" the walk ends in the centre of Kirkby Lonsdale where it links with the Thirlmere Way
