WALKING IN LAS MARINAS
For anyone planning an overseas winter walking break, the name "Las Marinas" serves two important roles. Firstly, it defines the sierras, valleys and small farming villages of the Spanish Mediterranean hinterland stretching from Gandia to Alicante. Secondly, it sounds a lot more credible as a walking destination than saying you're off to the Costa Blanca.
From September to June this virtually
unknown part of the Costa Blanca offers some of the best winter walking in Europe
under sunny skies with temperatures in the 60´s & low 70´s.
We offer a wide range of day-walks with varying degrees of length and difficulty
and transportation to and from the start of walks is in our own 8-seater mini-buses
(coaches for groups of 24
or more). Our guides are all British residents with first-aid training who have
walked these mountains for many years and have the experience and enthusiasm
to show visitors the best of our area - and bring them home safely.
While Benidorm and the smaller coastal villages still kick up their heels occasionally in the summer, in winter things are much calmer - although Benidorm itself still merits the title of a "year-round resort" with entertainment from the unashamedly tacky to the internationally sophisticated - to be enjoyed or ignored. And of course it is the year round popularity of the Costa Blanca that makes it such a bargain - with cheap flights and highly competitive hotel prices - not only in Benidorm but in the neighbouring villages.
