The Haute Route starts from the railway station in Chamonix and heads down the Avenue Michel Croz. There's a conveinience store on the right hand side about half way down should you need it. Turn right into Rue Whymper and head out on the road signposted Les Praz and Argentière. Just beyond the sign indicating to drivers that they are entering Chamonix there is a bus stop on the left and a path crossing a bridge into he Bois du Bouchet. Take the path to the right
