A fourteen mile walk initially along the banks of the River Windrush before taking to the hills from Bourton on the Water to Winchcombe connecting the Oxfordshire Way with the Cotswold Way. Apart from the medieval villages of Lower Harford, Aylworth and Hawling the only settlement along the Windrush Way is the modern version of Hawling.

The walk can be combined with the Wardens' Way to provide a circular route back to Bourton via Guiting Power, Naunton and the Slaughters.
