Originally called the Bradley 20 the walk was renamed in 1990 to commemorate the life and work of James Neville Cole the co-founder of the Wanderlust Rambling Club. The walk through the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is along field hedges and green lanes with no significent hills or slopes. It can also be split into three separate walks of 16.5 , 13 and 15 km (10, 8, 9 miles) respectively
