Opened in 1973 as a National Trail the route follows part of the ancient ridgeway between Overton Hill near East Kennett in Wiltshire to Ivinghoe Beacon in Buckinghamshire. The going is easy and can be completed within a week with little or no need for a map or compass because the walk is so well defined.
