Equally important is the new St Oswald's Way long distance walk, commencing
at Holy Island , (Lindisfarne) and ending some 97 miles later at Heavenfield,
on Hadrian's Wall, just north of Hexham.
The route follows the beautiful Northumberland Coast, passing through the villages
of Craster, Alnmouth, and Warkworth, before heading inland. Following mainly
existing rights of way and quiet country lanes, the route caters for walkers
of varying ability and fitness levels, visitors are also able to walk shorter
parts of the route, allowing the walk to be split-up into more accommodating
distances.
A set of weather-resistant and durable maps are available from Shepherds Walks.
