Now because there are alot of ancient religious sites dotted about between Padstow where the walk starts and Fowey where it finishes it has been assumed for the purposes of giving the route a title that maybe a saint or two may or may not have walked such a route in the past. No evidence though!

Still the walk does visit many ancient shrines, holy wells, standing stones, the odd church and chapel and if you stary a little in Lanivet the remains of an abbey, St Benet's to be precise.
The walk has come about in fact by the linking of a series of parish walks.
The are many and varied landscapes on route including green river valleys, moorland, Helman Tor and St Breock Downs linking the coastlines of the Atlantic Ocean and the English Channel.
Walking links with the South West Coastal Path at Padstow and Fowey and the Camel Trail at Padstow.
