Linking the Cotswolds to the Mendip Hills the route starts on the Cotswold Way at Cold Ashton in Gloucestershire and finishes on the West Mendip Way at Shipham in Somerset and utilising part of the Kennet and Avon Canal.

At the northern end of Batheaston turn right along the minor road and then left down to the Fosse Way Roman Road

Along the banks of the River Avon to the toll bridge. Cross the bridge and the A4 to join the Kennet and Avon Canal turning left along its northern bank. The canal swings south and the Limestone Link Path stays on the towpath past the pumping station and on to the Dundas Aquaduct. Cross the canal and join the A36 trunk road for approx 500m.
