Starting in Oakham, Rutland and finishing at Harling Road Station in Norfolk the route joins the Viking Way with the Peddars Way close to Knettishall Heath via Stamford, Peterborough, Ely, Brandon and Thetford.

...other route out of Oakham then with Viking and Macmillan Ways along the A606 before taking the northern path on Rutland Water past Barnsdale Lodge and Whitwell (PH) to Empingham (PH) then south to Ketton and the cement works and joining the Jurassic Way at Geeston to Easton on the Hill and Stamford (PH)

Ermine Street south to join the Nene Way just below the A47(T) and on to Sutton and Wansford Station (Nene Valley Railway)....

Ordnance Survey Explorer 229 Thetford Forest in The Breacks

.....Brandon on the edge of Thetford Forest where it joins the St Edmund's Way through the forest to Stanton Downham and the Little Ouse Path. The walk continues to share its route with the St Edmund's Way up to the A134 trunk road at which point the Hareward Way continues east and the SEW goes south.

A further forest section leads to some open fields for a short while to cross one minor road and join another just north of Croxton. The road enters forestry again and the route follows until another minor road jions from the left. At this point turn right onto a forest path that leads to Langmere and the Langmere Memorial.

Continuing across the A1075 through Roundham Heath the walk joins the Peddars Way and Norfolk Coast Path at Shadwell Crossing and turns north for a short distance to where the path emerges out of the trees. Turn right go for a short distance and turn right again back into the woods and follow the track through going past the fire tower......

Ordnance Survey Explorer 230 Diss & Harleston

...to the edge of the forestry, turn right and head south crossing the A11 trunk road and the railway line to Shephard's Barn and follow the track to Roundham Farm and the site of Medieval Village of Roudham and the remians of St Andrew's Church. The route follows the minor road east to Harling Road and the end of the walk at the railway station .
